Sacred kshetram where Lord Vishnu blessed both Anjaneya (Kapi) and Gajendra the elephant.
According to the Sthala Puranam and ancient Sri Vaishnava Agamas, Divya Desam #9 (Thirukkabistalam) is revered as a sacred kshetram in Chola Nadu. The presiding deity, Lord Gajendra Varadha Perumal, graces devotees in Kidandha (Reclining) posture facing East beneath the sacred Gaganaakrithi Vimanam, accompanied by Goddess Ramamanivalli Thayar. Holy dips or prostrations near the Gajendra Pushkarani are believed to bestow peace, prosperity, and Moksha. Throughout the centuries, Chola, Pandya, Pallava, and Vijayanagara rulers contributed मंडपम्स (mandapams), gopurams, and stone inscriptions preserving the daily Pancharatra / Vaikhanasa Agama worship.

ஸ்தல புராணத்தின்படி, திவ்ய தேசம் #9 (திருக்கவித்தலம் (கபிஸ்தலம்)) சோழ நாடு பகுதியில் அமைந்த மிகப் புராதனமான வைணவத் திருத்தலமாகும். இத்தலத்தில் மூலவர் கஜேந்திர வரதப் பெருமாள் (Kidandha (Reclining) திருக்கோலம்) மற்றும் தாயார் ரமாமணிவல்லி தாயார் ஆகியோர் Gaganaakrithi Vimanam கீழ் எழுந்தருளி பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர். இங்குள்ள புனித தீர்த்தமான Gajendra Pushkarani கரையில் வழிபடுவது சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி நல்வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
