The Lord stands with Eight Arms (Ashtabhuja) holding eight weapons to protect Gajendra and Brahma’s Yagna.
According to the Sthala Puranam and ancient Sri Vaishnava Agamas, Divya Desam #44 (Ashtabujakaram (Kanchipuram)) is revered as a sacred kshetram in Thondai Nadu. The presiding deity, Lord Adikesava Perumal (Ashtabujapperumal), graces devotees in Ninra (Standing) posture facing West beneath the sacred Chakrakrithi Vimanam, accompanied by Goddess Alarmelmangai (Pushpavalli). Holy dips or prostrations near the Gajendra Pushkarani are believed to bestow peace, prosperity, and Moksha. Throughout the centuries, Chola, Pandya, Pallava, and Vijayanagara rulers contributed मंडपम्स (mandapams), gopurams, and stone inscriptions preserving the daily Pancharatra / Vaikhanasa Agama worship.

ஸ்தல புராணத்தின்படி, திவ்ய தேசம் #44 (அஷ்டபுஜகரம் (காஞ்சிபுரம்)) தொண்டை நாடு பகுதியில் அமைந்த மிகப் புராதனமான வைணவத் திருத்தலமாகும். இத்தலத்தில் மூலவர் ஆதிகேசவப் பெருமாள் (அஷ்டபுஜப் பெருமாள்) (Ninra (Standing) திருக்கோலம்) மற்றும் தாயார் அலர்மேல்மங்கை (புஷ்பவல்லி) ஆகியோர் Chakrakrithi Vimanam கீழ் எழுந்தருளி பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர். இங்குள்ள புனித தீர்த்தமான Gajendra Pushkarani கரையில் வழிபடுவது சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி நல்வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
