The Lord manifested as a radiant lamp to protect Brahma’s Yagna from darkness; birthplace (Thooppul) of Swami Vedanta Desika.
According to the Sthala Puranam and ancient Sri Vaishnava Agamas, Divya Desam #45 (Thiruthanka (Thooppul Vilakkoli Perumal)) is revered as a sacred kshetram in Thondai Nadu. The presiding deity, Lord Deepaprakasa Perumal (Vilakkoli Perumal), graces devotees in Ninra (Standing) posture facing West beneath the sacred Srikara Vimanam, accompanied by Goddess Maragathavalli Thayar. Holy dips or prostrations near the Saraswathi Pushkarani are believed to bestow peace, prosperity, and Moksha. Throughout the centuries, Chola, Pandya, Pallava, and Vijayanagara rulers contributed मंडपम्स (mandapams), gopurams, and stone inscriptions preserving the daily Pancharatra / Vaikhanasa Agama worship.

பிரம்மனின் யாகத்திற்கு ஒளியாக விளக்கொளிப் பெருமாளாய் நின்ற தலம். சுவாமி வேதாந்த தேசிகர் அவதரித்த தூப்புல் தலம்.
ஸ்தல புராணத்தின்படி, திவ்ய தேசம் #45 (திருத்தண்கா (தூப்புல் விளக்கொளிப் பெருமாள்)) தொண்டை நாடு பகுதியில் அமைந்த மிகப் புராதனமான வைணவத் திருத்தலமாகும். இத்தலத்தில் மூலவர் தீபப்பிரகாசர் (விளக்கொளிப் பெருமாள்) (Ninra (Standing) திருக்கோலம்) மற்றும் தாயார் மரகதவல்லி தாயார் ஆகியோர் Srikara Vimanam கீழ் எழுந்தருளி பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர். இங்குள்ள புனித தீர்த்தமான Saraswathi Pushkarani கரையில் வழிபடுவது சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி நல்வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
