According to the Sthala Puranam and ancient Sri Vaishnava Agamas, Divya Desam #50 (Thiru Ooragam (Ulagalantha Perumal Koil)) is revered as a sacred kshetram in Thondai Nadu. The presiding deity, Lord Ulagalantha Perumal (Trivikrama), graces devotees in Ninra (35 ft Trivikrama) posture facing West beneath the sacred Saaranga Vimanam, accompanied by Goddess Amudhavalli Nachiyar. Holy dips or prostrations near the Naga Theertham are believed to bestow peace, prosperity, and Moksha. Throughout the centuries, Chola, Pandya, Pallava, and Vijayanagara rulers contributed मंडपम्स (mandapams), gopurams, and stone inscriptions preserving the daily Pancharatra / Vaikhanasa Agama worship.

ஸ்தல புராணத்தின்படி, திவ்ய தேசம் #50 (திருஊரகம் (காஞ்சி உலகளந்த பெருமாள்)) தொண்டை நாடு பகுதியில் அமைந்த மிகப் புராதனமான வைணவத் திருத்தலமாகும். இத்தலத்தில் மூலவர் உலகளந்த பெருமாள் (திரிவிக்கிரமன்) (Ninra (35 ft Trivikrama) திருக்கோலம்) மற்றும் தாயார் அமுதவல்லி நாச்சியார் ஆகியோர் Saaranga Vimanam கீழ் எழுந்தருளி பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர். இங்குள்ள புனித தீர்த்தமான Naga Theertham கரையில் வழிபடுவது சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி நல்வாழ்வு அளிக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
